This song has given me more trouble than, well, only 3 or so others that remain unreleased despite 2 years of work. This one has only been 13 months in the making. But there's something about it when it works. I am not convinced this is the version that works. The very first version came closest but there were glitches when it was recorded. If you want to hear the first version please check out the bandcamp bonus track.
Sure enough, updated once again April 16 2017!
lyrics
Hey,
did you ever wake up
in a strange place?
Hey,
were you ever unsure
it it was dawn or dusk
from the light outside?
Hey,
did you ever forget that the sun shines?
Hey,
were you ever surprised
to feel the wind
on your skin?
Sometimes I step back light years
and see what everyone fears:
That I'm a moment in space
and I'm a moment in time
and that makes everything fine.
But I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this by now.
I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this by now.
Hey,
did you ever wonder
what your name is?
Hey,
did you ever find out
a memory
was just a photograph?
Hey,
did you ever forget about the sunshine?
Hey,
were you ever surprised
at the feel of the wind
on your skin?
Sometimes I step back light years
and see what everyone fears:
That I'm a moment in space
and I'm a moment in time
and that makes everything fine.
But I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this by now.
I shoulda grown outta this.
I shoulda grown outta this by now.
